Ajit Pawar's Encounter with Police Officer Goes Viral

A video featuring Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has surfaced. In this clip, he appears to reprimand a female officer from the Indian Police Service (IPS) who is taking action against illegal murum mining in Solapur district.

The NCP has asserted that Pawar's intention was not to halt the police action but possibly to calm down party workers by addressing the officer. Furthermore, the party has alleged that the video was deliberately leaked.

The footage, broadcasted on regional news channels, shows Pawar speaking with Anjana Krishna, the sub-divisional police officer of Karmala, via a phone call initiated by an NCP worker. Initially, Krishna did not recognize Pawar's voice, after which he reportedly requested her to cease the ongoing action through a video call.

NCP state president Sunil Tatkare commented that the video was intentionally leaked, suggesting that Pawar may have reprimanded the officer to pacify party members rather than to completely stop the police operation.
